| Senior Men’s and Women’s Epee | Minimum age 13 years old as at 31 January 2027. Ideally suited for fencers new to fencing competitions as well as the regular competition goer.
Fencers must have a British Fencing Rating of C, D, E and U. Fencers with a NIF of 10 or 6, or a rating of A or B cannot enter. 16 Carpet pistes. Entries will be capped to help manage the event and make it run smoothly. Fencers may need to self-referee in poules and early DE fights. |
| Competition formats | One round of poules, everyone promoted to Direct Elimination (15 hits in the DE’s). DE Timings: 15 hits 3-1-3-1-3. |
| Check-in Closures | Senior Epee: • Women – 09.00 • Men – 09:00 |
| Entry Fees | • Senior PM £45 (late entry +£20 at organiser’s discretion) |
| Closing Date | 00:00 Monday 25 January 2027. Waiting List invites need to be accepted within 24 hours. |
| Ranking | The event will be a British Fencing GB Cup Ranking event. Points from this event will go towards your Senior Ranking and GB Cup Ranking. |
| Referees | We are looking for level 2 and above epee referees to help us this year. Further details including remunerations, can be found HERE. |
| Requirements | BFA ‘Compete’ level membership will be required. Fencers will need to join online at BritishFencing.com. Entries will be capped to assist with the management and smooth running of the event. |
| Equipment |
Your kit should comply with British Fencing’s current guidelines. A summary can be found here. |
| Cancellations and Refunds |
Fencers cancelling before the closing date will be refunded less non-recoverable costs (approx. £4). Cancellations after the closing date will not be refunded. If it is necessary to cancel the event, entry fees will be refunded less non-recoverable costs. |
| International Visitor Fencers |
Please ensure you obtain a temporary British Fencing membership number to complete in our event. If you do not hold a current British Fencing membership number, you will not be permitted to compete. Full details here>>> |
| Referee Course | As part of our commitment to improve fencers and encourage the introduction of referees, we will be running a level 2 epee referee course in conjunction with this event. You may be required to referee until the conclusion of the event. NB: It is not possible for applicants to enter the fencing competition and do the course, as time is required to assess throughout the day. |
Armoury Course |
West Midlands Region Fencing are running an armoury course from 9.30am-11.30am to help fencers, parents, coaches or anyone who would like to know more. Maximum of 12 candidates. BOOK NOW! |
| Car Parking |
There is onsite parking at the leisure centre, although this can get busy at times. There are several car parks in local proximity with a short walk to the leisure centre. |
| Car Park Charges |
Parking is free up to 3 hours. Over 3 hours charges apply. You must clearly display a parking ticket. You can use the PayByPhone App on mobile phones using Location Number 811379. More details here. |
| Travel by Train |
Solihull Train Station is a stones through from the leisure centre, on the other side of the road. Trains travelling from London to Birmingham regularly stop at Solihull. Full details of times, costs and booking can be found with The Trainline.com. |
| Café | Enjoy a variety of hot and cold food and drinks from the onsite café. Opening Hours 08:00-16:00. |
